A Red Bull Snow Run

In a breathtaking fusion of motorsport and winter sports, Red Bull once again proved that Formula 1 action knows no limits. Just one week before the legendary Hahnenkamm alpine ski race in Kitzbühel, Austria, the brand delivered a spectacular snow run that captivated thousands of fans.

The centrepiece of the event was the iconic Red Bull Racing RB7, the 2011 title-winning car, which was flown onto the mountain by helicopter in a carefully coordinated operation. Despite the challenging conditions—freezing temperatures and an altitude of more than 1,600 metres—the machine required only minimal adjustments. Engineers raised the ride height and equipped the car with studded Pirelli tyres and snow chains, ensuring it could carve its way through the icy surface.

Behind the wheel was none other than Max Verstappen, who at the time was Formula 1’s most exciting young rookie. The Dutchman thrilled spectators with high-speed runs, perfectly executed drive-bys, and a dazzling display of ice-kissed doughnuts that echoed across the Alps.

For Austrian motorsport fans, the winter demonstration was a unique teaser ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix at Spielberg’s Red Bull Ring later that summer. The combination of a world-class ski event and the roar of a Formula 1 car created an unforgettable atmosphere, blending two of Austria’s greatest passions in sports.

Red Bull’s Live Demo Team has long been known for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, taking Formula 1 machines far beyond the racetrack. By sending the RB7 hurtling down a specially prepared section of the Hahnenkamm mountainside, they once again demonstrated the brand’s flair for turning ambitious ideas into spectacular reality.
