McLaren Racing has confirmed that Groq, a leader in AI inference technology, has joined as an Official Partner of the McLaren Formula 1 Team. This collaboration highlights McLaren’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation and performance both on and off the track.
At the core of the partnership is the integration of Groq’s custom LPU™ chip, a cutting-edge technology purpose-built for AI inference. Designed to deliver ultra-fast, cost-efficient intelligence, the LPU will play a key role in enhancing McLaren’s performance analysis, technical development, and real-time decision-making capabilities.
By harnessing Groq’s high-speed processing power, McLaren aims to strengthen its competitive edge in Formula 1, where every millisecond counts. The technology will provide advanced insights to support strategy, car development, and race execution—enabling McLaren to maximise efficiency and agility under pressure.
Nick Martin, Co-Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Racing, commented:
“Formula 1 is about performance under pressure, so we’re excited to begin working with Groq to help deliver inference at the speed we need to support us in our efforts to stay at the front of the grid.”
Chelsey Susin Kantor, Chief Marketing Officer, Groq, added:
“McLaren and Groq share the same foundations: speed, precision, and the efficiency needed to win. We’re proud to deliver the high-performance, low-cost compute that fuels McLaren on the track and beyond.”
