The hardest braking point on the Shanghai International Circuit lies at the end of the longest straight, ahead of turn 14. The driver has to decelerate here by 272 km/h over just 159 metres. The calculated brake energy involved is 2,120 kW. The driver is subjected to 4.9 g, while he pushes with 183 kg onto the brake.
