The team faced financial ruin in 2009 when BMW announced it was leaving F1, but Sauber structured a deal which allowed him to retake control, following a high profile investment flop with Qadbak Investment Ltd. Aside from Sauber’s involvement with Michael Schumacher in sportscars, the team has launched the careers of Felipe Massa, Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Kimi Räikkönen. Has announced that he will step down as Principal in 2012 and Monisha Kaltenborn will take his place. She did it, and did it successfully, however, the team was not doing so well in 2013 and especially 2014. So far Sauber is in the middle of the list of teams for 2015.
